It might not help with a $900 light bill but there are usually 1 or 2 low income energey programs your local electric company can suggest to you IF YOU ASK. Many times they will NOT give you the names of the agencies or places that will help unless you ASK. One such agency is LEAP. It is a federal program for low income families. I have used it and so has my son in Oregon. If your local electric company does NOT have a list of agencies for you, you can find LEAP online. Also some local churches help families with utilities. Thats all I can suggest for you. Good Luck and God Bless.

My name is "Jaime". I am a mother and a wife. My husband is off work. He has medical problems and is waiting on a court date for social security disability. I was laid off recently. We have 2 kids at home and a grandchild. I desperately need help paying my utility bills. Any day now the light company is going to shut my lights off. I have called numerous agencies. My light bill is extremely high. We moved recently, to a cheaper rental. And I had an old light bill that was added (900.00) on to my account. Every since that happend, I havent been able to get it caught up because they (light co) added to total old bill on. I keep falling farther and further behind. If i could get this paid, I can stay current, I wont have a problem. Please, If some one could help or let me know what to do, I would be eternally grateful. I pray that today wont be the day my lights get shut off!! 

Hello, I don't know how I got myself into the situation that I am in. I am 2 months pregnant. I am $700 behind on my car payment and I owe my grandfather roughly $1000. My credir is shot. I am employed at Cracker Barrel, but haven't been making any money at all lately. I need help in the form of a small loan until tax time to get on my feet. Please help!

i need help paying my rent and utility bills,hi,my name is charles im 47 yrs. old have worked hard all my life.i have been working for this company for five yrs. now,about a year ago i started getting sick and went to dr. after dr. then specialist after specialiest until they threw there hands up and said they didnt know what was up.so i started searching the internet  and finally googled grindng "carbide health and saftey" and found out i have been breathing in heavy metals and carbide into my lungs ,cobalt,nickel,chromeium,diamond dust and all that is used to make the grinding wheels and carbide,to make a long story short work comp refused to pay the bills because a dr. was not the one that diagnosed what was wrong even though i had all the msds sheets from our suppliers and their study sheets for all matierals.i had 85-95% of all symptoms that they reported,well by then i didnt have any savings left,now i have been sued for all the outstanding medical bills they total about 7500.00 and my wages are being attached i have a daughter and grand daughter living with me we are about to end up on the streets,the really sick thing about all this is i still work for the same company where i got poisened because their are no other jobs out there,so im getting my wages garnished for being poisened by a very wealthy company that caused all this and im footing the bill that has made me sick where is the justice in all this,i even had to go to the food bank last monday to feed my family,if you can help i would be grateful for the rest of my life my rent is 500.00 per mo. my utilitys run about 185.00 if you can help thank you.if not thats ok to.even if you could help me with legal matters i want to stop these guys from doing this to anyone else,if you contact me i will show you all the proof plus more than i can write about in a 20 page letter.or if you would do a loan for me i would pay it back,although my credit isnt good its not bad either,i just dont have any. thank you

Like so many, we are a rather good size family. My husband is a disabled Veteran who is able to contribute a small amount with his pension, thankfully. We have 4 wonderful children and try so hard to make it paycheck to paycheck. But, with no room to breath we suffocating here. The light bill is too much, the food is running out, we need medical and dental help, theres no way we can take our children to the dentist or doctor with the income we have. I am so lost, so scared. I'm tried of fighting the fight of stretching money that doesn't exist. I feel so defeated. The debts, no food, no way out. I just need some kind of way. theres got to be a way. I need money, I feel ashamed asking, but I feel even more ashamed when my children are hungry and theres nothing to eat. Please help us. Please. My family and I have always been the ones helping others. Now look, we having such a hard time surviving ourselves. Please help us! Bless you all.

Hope someone can help, I lost my husbad to cancer & was left with pass due Mortgage payments & pass years property taxes. Im  stessing out everyday with no help & can't get a loan due to his bad credit with my name attached. He spend all the money drinking due to depression of being sick. My name is Chris. I'm married to a very loving and caring women. I always had the perfect girl in mind and never thought I would find her. I did, took a lot of prayers but It happend. We were blessed with a bueatiful girl that we named Adilyn. She is going on 5months. Luckily I found this sight, hopefully with a lot of prayers someone will find us threw this sight and be willing to help.

I'm a disabled veteran that was in the Special Operations. We have racked up some consumer debt that we would like help with. This is not stupid debt! this is debt that we racked up to put food on the table, bills and etc. Were to the point now that we have to ask for help. We've tried everything. Having a child has taken even more of our income. If we didn't have this debt we would be doing ok. We just have no money, not even an emergeny fund.

I finally managed to get my car . I must have put my resume in every business in every town in a 30 mile radius. Unemployment ran out am 3 months behind on rent. Electric and phone shut off notices have arrived. I have 2.53 to my name and 1/4 tank of gas. bald tires (thank God no snow yet) and my car needs to be inspected by end of next month. auto insurance to run out in 1 week. But I am NOT gonna give up! I am determined to make things work. on the positive side I did get my car back. I signed up at school for the next semester which begins in January. I made all classes be online so I don't have to worry about my schedual when I get a job. It is so discouraging not getting hired. Any one out there need online work done? Oh well. Pray for me please.

Wow how quickly life can change... I am now a 51 year old student who has been widowed for 2 weeks. I thought life was hard then it's worse now. Just as the light was coming into view at the end of the tunnel there was a landslide shutting off the end.

My husband of almost 35 years got sick and died in less than 2 weeks leaving me in debt, in the country with a car in the shop, no income, ane worse of all alone. My best friend is gone, no one to ask advice or even get those it will be alright hugs.

There are no programs to help widows under the age of 60 who have no minor children., except a one time death payment of $255. I had to give that to my landlord toward the 2 months back rent we owed. I need a long term loan of approx $5000. That would get my car out so I could find a job, catch up my rent, electric and phone, and at least allow me to grieve a bit then attemp to find a job. As it is I took this semester off but it is not looking like I will be able to return to college.

I could pay the loan back at $25 per week and am willing to pay interest, so if anyone knows anyone willing to invest in a long term loan. PLEASE let me know.

I did find a job that lasted 11 months before I got laid off. got a pell grant and went to college to become an accountant was doing very well and going to recieve my Associates in Science in aug of 2012 until my sweet John passed away. Now everything is uncertain.

I am an unemployed 47 year old woman who's company moved out of state in Dec. My unemployment ran out 2 weeks ago and I am rapidly sinking in my pool of debt. I did have an interview last Fri. but won't hear anything till July 16th or so. There's not much work in this area of Vt. I made my first visit to a food shelf  the other day, and made a mental note that as soon as I get back on my feet, to make monthly donations to them (instead of just the food drive times). I've been married to the same wonderful man for 30 years and have raised 3 great kids. Thank God for my husbands disability check! It is only 100.00 more than my rent, but it's is better than nothing.

I found a house in need of repairs (we could live there while repairing), If I could find just 40,000.00 We could actually live on my husbands money, pay back that 40,000.00 in 10 years with a 8,000.00 profit and be able to pull ourselves up. This would all be without getting a job, which I intend on getting one, so all would be excellerated. I would still give the person the 8,000.00 profit just for taking a chance on me with their investment. Our credit is screwed, but my husbands check is gaurenteed monthly by the U.S. government. If anyone is able and interested give me a shout and we can talk the details. We would want it all done legally to protect both you and us.

I am a single mother of two girls who lost my job 6 months ago and have been unable to find one.  I am highly employable since I have a computer degree and have great solid experience.  I was employed for the past 22 years so it is difficult to understand how I got to this point in my life.  I am now afraid that I am going to loose everything that I have worked hard to achieve.  This includes my house, car, etc.  I have been going through bouts of depression.  My oldest daughter is in her second year of high school with a 4.0 gpa.  It is difficult to remain positive and not worry/scare her about the situation we are facing.  I have been so stressed that it is affecting my health.  I desperately need a job quickly that can pay my bills.  In the meantime I need help with my mortgage and bills.  Help!!!!

I just purchased an old mobile home out of desperation for a home. It needs windows and paint. I had to help with my mother's funeral costs and got behind in my car payments. I would just let the finance co. take it back but then I wouldnt be able to get to work. I can't seem to get them cought up it's about to be repo'ed. I don't have the money to just purchase a cheeper vehicle. And my credit isn't good enough to just finance a vehicle for a couple thousand.

The windows in the home are the old crank type and the cranks are broken. The windows have tape around them to keep the cold out, but now that it's summer we cant open the windows to get air in. I work 45-50 hours a week but just cant get the money to get windows and things that we need to fix this place up. Also carpet in living room is very soiled from the pryor owner. Winter is comming again and the oil tank is empty. Don't know how we will get it filled either. I will have more money from my pay in a couple of months, the trailer will be paid and my 401k loan at work will be paid. I just don't know how to make it for the next 5 mos.

I would get a second job as I have done in the past, but my old joints and back wont let me do much more than I already do. I am so tired and sore from my present work that I can hardly walk on my feet when I get home. My husband works full time but has child support and only get's about $250 ev/2 wks. He has stomache problems and can't work much more either.
